Circle Walking

Circle walking around today
In the Daoist Bagua way

I firstly start breathing to refresh my qi
Then start to feel the Dao within me

Hands up high to hold the Heavens above
Walking around feeling a Lightness and a Love

Then move my hands in front and down below
Making the movement of the Earth as I go

Then one hand before and one behind me
As I spin around to make the energy of Wind qi

Now to push my hands out from my chest
I hold away the Thunder and try my best

Next I turn and coil to pour Fire qi out
Filling my Sacred Circle, to me that's what it's about

Then I turn into to the movement of Water's flow
I practise a spear throwing action, throw the qi where it will go

Next Mountain hands cupping up towards my face
Walking around this Circle with a 'stillness' and a grace

Lake element is the last of this IChing pack
With both my arms stretched outwards I calmly walk back

Solstice 2012

We were blessed this winter solstice morn
The sun was up and shining at dawn

We met down the bottom at the foot of the hill
All fresh faced, excited and joyful feeling the thrill

Up a slippery slope we trudged and climbed
Dogs racing round us
Voices rang out in an excitable chime

Over the Down to the Circles we did go
The lady to put up our sacred space was Jo

Then we walked into the centre to place down our gear
And got ready to celebrate this important Solstice of 2012 year

Then Nicola said ' I want to circle walk'
So an impromptu lesson was given
We were eager to be taught

A beautiful energy was raised
as we walked the circles round
The eight elements were praised
As we directed Qi from sky to deep in the ground

Each movement felt different
As we raised a beautiful Qi
Then the time was checked
It was the winter solstice exactly

We stood in the circle and directed healing flow
To this new golden age wherever it needed to go

Then it was time to go to the tree for fun and photos with friends and my 'soulful family'

To my very beautiful soul sisters and their kin, much love to you this holiday season see you at summer solstice!

The Throne of Guns

After Mozambique's bloody civil war
The country was well and truly torn

The Portuguese had just left
Leaving the peoples and land bereft

A Marxist Government was then formed
White South Africa and Rhodesia had been warned

Then the weapons were flooded in
To set ppl fighting and make a terrible din

For 10 years the factions fought it out
Kids with guns to scream and shout

This ravaged nation could not go on
Self respect, love and unity had gone

The last 10 years has been a success
Mozambique is now revealing it is an African treasure chest

It is the most successful land in a post colonial age
No more do the ppl fight and rage

And after this bloody war did stop
What to do with all gun stocks?

Then a priestly idea was had
One that would make the people glad

An idea to decommission all guns of dread
To make a peaceful throne to remind people instead

A throne where no one is meant to sit
Peace and reconciliation, the chair will do its bit

Now this peaceful throne is a reminder to
Love their neighbour and not split the land in two.

( inspired by the Radio 4 show - the history of the world in 100 objects. I remembered visiting this country in the early 90's to take money across the boarder for a south african bank. Maputo was a city of shelled out buildings with bomb craters in the middle of the streets and starving children with limbs blown off by landlines along with the displaced foreign mercenaries it was a wild tragic place. The locals however were Soo friendly and the beaches were picture postcards. I enjoyed my visit very much and have watched this new country's progression)

Terracotta Warriors

Made for the Emperor of the Qin
To the West we guard the tomb within

Another army to the east
16,000 of us - at least

From the 3rd century BC
We have stood here in perfect harmony

Modelled upon His army above
We have been fashioned out of respect and love

Made for our Emperor's every need
His death brought about by his very own greed

For the elixir of Immortal Life was sought
As was the fashion of the Chinese court

Toxic fluids were swallowed down
Gold was particularly potent
Not for a crown

And now we stand in these three pits
More lie undiscovered with fine funery bits

Chariots, weapons, many supplies
Acrobats, musicians and concubines

Over 1000 horses , stone armour, weapons still so sharp
Buried there within the dark

Guarding The Emperor for all time
I stand forever in this line.

Never To Leave You

After a winter frozen in death
Comes Life's new reborn breath

My tears are the rain
To wash away pain

My new life begins to grow
As new shoots peep up through snow

Soft breath is the breeze that brushes your cheek in spring
Feel my love in the air as I sing

My eyes sparkle in the morning dew
Giving moisture and life anew

My strands of hair are cobwebs glistening in early morning sun
Connecting the Everything to the One

I call to you on the wind and play with your name
Feel my undying love, it is just the same

I am the sun as it dances high
In it's giant ark across the sky

I am the bright new leaves which spring forthe from twigs bare
I am also on the tree roots - those tiny little hairs

As you lay on the grass know that I am always there
For my love and my essence are everywhere

At the end only the beauty of the land remains
But my love and memories will always stay the same.

Into the Belly of The Mother

I crawl in to take cover
Within the womb of The Mother

Deep within Her folds and creases
I scrabble along the floor cross broken pieces

Into The Mother I crawl below
Carrying my colours as I do go

The Shaman's journey I will undertake
Offerings I go to make

Deep into The Mother I do go
Down and down and down below

Into Her womb I descend
Into a great big cavern at the very far end

I open my pouche upon the ground
Light a torch with to look around

Others came before me to this place
Painted with Spirit - a hand, a horse, a face

I snuff my torch out now it's dark
Spirit will guide me to make my mark

I pick a place upon the wall
Position myself and start to call

Starting to sing, keen, move into trance
Feeling Her heartbeat , feeling Her dance

Visions in darkness appear in my head
I spit on my colours, mix with finger
Paint the sun ochre red

Then my spirit is taken away
And with my colours I start to play

I spit, I dab, use a twig and leaf
Paint the hunt and the hunted
Stars up above
The cavern deep beneath

At last The Breath doth leaveth me
I light another torch with which to see

Now there are stories left forever for you to find
To wonder about early man and what was in our minds.

Sirius Rising

Out walking on the beach at night
I notice a white, red and blue flashing light
Blinking at me it was soo clear
Calling to me in winter, this time of year

This shining brightness is Canis Major's mouth
Sirius - The Dog Star is duly South
and to the east  of Orion's belt
It's Egyptian energy I know I felt

I have a feeling about this place
The amphibious beings are it's race
We're told by the Dogon that they came here
In their  three legged space craft at this time of year

Is this about to happen again
When the sea's arise
Will we see amphibious men?

As the Galactic Alignment 2012 draws near
I do not worry I do not fear
For our brothers are welcome from afar
As long as they bring peace, love and do not mar

It is The Glowing Sorcerer  to the Greeks in the sky
To the Chinese it is the Celestial Wolf  as he wanders by
To the Indians it is Vishnu's Blue Light
That shines so brightly through the night
To the Zorosta it was amphibious men
Who will come to walk these lands again

And to the Hopis it heralds the emergence of  the Fifth  Golden Age
But will it create storms, and earthquakes will solar flares rage?
To Cherokee it is the "path of the souls'
Who walk the land as it gets cold

So the next time you see that pulsating light
Offer up prayers,  healing and let them take flight
For the good of all here on Earth
For the love of Gaia and beautiful rebirth

Eos the Goddess of the Dawn

There is another tale to tell of one poor goddess whose days do not end well.

Of gods and goddesses who light the skies with tangled webs which stretch up high.

Take Eos the Goddess of the Dawn
She who starts and ends the day forlorn

For she would have chased across the skies many loves and lovers whose love each night died.

For one day Aphrodite cursed her well
So here right now Her tale I tell.

As Eos shines upon the Earth she accompanies The Sun God but marries Astraeus and gives birth to both the Morning and the Evening stars. To the winds of the directions which blow from afar.

She next was wanton and she was not very chaste she carried off mere mortals with very great haste. There were many here from the earth below who would bathe in her rosy glow.

Then one day in the heavens above Eos rises again in love. The god who was the object of her desire set her heart and soul on fire. Ares was this beautiful God's name. And on this day he set her aflame.

She drove her chariot as fast as it would fly right across the morning sky. Her saffron robes they flew apart to reveal her beating and pulsating heart.

Ares could not pull away from her soft glow not now today. So off to bed they did go. Both basking in that rosy glow.

Now Ares was Aphrodite's man
So when she found out she cursed them all she can. She crashed around in the dark before dawn and cursed poor Eos to wake everyday forlorn

And to always fall in love each day and waste her time in disappointment and dismay

So now you know about the Goddess of the Dawn of Eos the Goddess of the morn. She who rides across the skies with the tears of love and lust that she always cries.

Another bardic tale from Greece

So who do you think you are?

Flesh and blood
Bones out of mud

Sinew and skin
A soul within

Brains and veins
With aches and pains

Teeth and tongue
Now not so young

Air with fire
That takes me higher

Tears and sadness
Which give way to gladness

Joy and love
Bring the peace of the dove

Water and earth
To help give birth

Life to death
In just one breath

The Labarynth

There's a Labarynth on Cissbury Down
One that the Fae dance round & round
Two straight paths to make the trunk
Mowed out of grass the walk ways sunk

I'd asked the Guardians to give to me
A sign of something for us to see
We ambled off the beaten way
Through the brambles and wet hay

Then suddenly I thought I saw
Lots of circles on the lawn
Is it?... Was it?... Could it be?
The sign I'd asked be shown to me?

It was!...It is!... I'm a lucky gal!
To find that tree of old Tintagel.

Up the trunk we did walk
Quietly thinking, not to talk
Of all the things that are to go
To be cast out into the ebb and flow

Once in the middle we sat down
In the centre on that Hallowed ground
A drink of water and a cup of tea
For my little dog Alfie and for me
Not forgetting Our Goddess Dear
Who has been with us all through the year
Then I spied some red fungus
That the Fae did show to us

Time to go now outward bound
The dog thought I was mad
Going round and round
Thinking of what I'd like drawn to me
Love and Light, I'll wait patiently

And now a sacred space has been found For Winter Solstice to be danced around
Mowed by the farmers on the lawn
I can not wait for Solstice Morn!

Pisces Is Born

My story today is of Pisces the fish. It is a story of lovers and of their very last wish.

Our heroin is Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. The fairest and most beautiful of the Goddesses above.

It was Zews the top God on Mount Olympus up high. He decided Aphrodite was tempestuous and should remain dry.

She was married to Hepaestus, a dour sour kind of god. He who made metal, born a cripple and walked with a plod.

Aphrodite was not enamoured by this god soo un fair. Her eyes spied upon Ares and love was in the air.

Now Ares was most beautiful and the God of the War. His mind quick and witty, he was defiantly not a bore!

He piqued our heroin's interest so much so she did bare, her bountiful breasts and drew him into her lair.

Our god Ares, well he could not resist. He tried and he tried but he could not desist. Very soon our pair of lovers entered upon a lustful lovers tryst.

Now Hephaestus, he grew suspicious and did get in his head a feeling that he would catch them very soon in his bed!

He somehow got himself a magical net. Proof of the poison he would very soon get!

He invited all on Olympus to witness this affair of this God of war and his wife with the golden hair.

The net was slung high and put into place. He could not wait to see the look of shame on her face. All on Olympus would see their embarrassment and fall from grace.

Sure enough soon the lovers went to his bed. They were caught in the act and hauled up in the net.

And everyone saw it, not rumour, now true fact. Everyone knew that she had broken her marriage pact.

Poseidon acted as judge and managed to get from the pair, their promise of a tithe instead of their death to make things even and square.

But the couple escaped to flee far over the skies. They fled, they did go. They did start to fly.

Not wanting to look stupid Poseidon drew up His might. He blew up a typhoon a great storm with which to fight.

A great funnell of water stretched from the sea to the sky. Across the Mediterranean, over African mountains, stirring the sands as He did fly. Soon the Earth started to rumble shake. The wrath of the gods caused a massive earthquake.

Our couple could not escape Him for long. They took to terrible fright. There was nothing left to do but to look out to the stars of night.

"I wonder" said Ares " if we were to fly, up into the heavens, into very deep skies. Do you see all those stars in the heavens above? If we can dive into them we could remain tied and in love!"

The couple looked down at the raging sea and sky. It was decided in an instant that they would then fly high.

Off into the deep folds of the night they did go. They dove into the darkness. Into the dark night's murky flow. But twinkle in the heavens they will ever now glow.

And now they do spend their time up in heaven and in space. One flew to Cyprus, the other to the Isle of Thrace.

As the sun moves through to Pisces those two little fish, they remain tied to each other as was their very last wish.

So when you look up into the night skies above. When you see Pisces the fish, the sign of true love. Remember our Aphrodite and her lover Ares most fair. Of that dangerous liaison and adulterous affair.

Trying to be a bard

I have recently joined the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. The course is very interesting snd stimulating my brain cells. By just joining I have followed the first excercises and am now going to start writing. The course is all about. Ringing out the Bard in you which I have started. I called a robin to my garden by poetry. Now I am going to tell a part of a story they has not befn told before. One of the threads woven into a new tale. The story of Aphrodite and Ares who dive into the sea of stars only to based there by Typhon to create the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces - my star. I am planning this tale snd I dare say it will take a while but it will come.

Robin Red Breast

I noticed a redbreast
In the grove today
I've seen him twice
having a play
Ever since I wrote that rhyme
A little robin
Has been Having a good time
He uses Kuan Yin as his perch
And on her head he does besmirch
Our poor poor Goddess
I am sorry please forgive me
That Robin Redbreast
has come to see me

Remembrance Sunday

Off to the Cenotaph I go today
With my father's hat and medals
I go to pray
To remember all those fallen down
Those who fought for Country King & Crown
Harry Bailey Tilsley WW1
Reginald Tilsley WW2
Norman Tilsley WW2 & China
Philip Clifton German POW
Rev Arthur Beale At Dunkirk
Who got the wounded out,
As the Gerries went berserk

For all those fallen on the ground
In all wars fought
We gather round
Poppies on and in full song
If we forget we will go wrong

Another memory I do hold dear
Is my darling Bugsie dog
With the floppy ear
3 years ago today
As the gun salutes
He went on his way
To march with the troops
Up in the sky
And for my darling Bugsie
I do still cry

We also pray for the troops today
To come home safely
To us we pray

Dawn Run

Out for a run
On this frosty morn
Up comes the sun
All red on this dawn
Venus shines brightly
As the morning star
The moon all shiny
Near, yet oh so far
On and on
We run along the shore
Giving thanks and feeling lucky
Could we possibly ask for more?!

Saturday 3 November 2012

Hail

Running down the street today
Hailstorm pounds us on our way
Stinging lightly on my hands
The dog just stops still and stands
Tail between his legs did he
'this is not fun and not Yippii'!
I coax him on to run some more
But he cannot wait to reach our
front door

Saturday 27 October 2012

North Wind

The north wind doth blow
The north wind doth blow
Bringing with it the hint of the cold
The clocks turning back
The nights drawing in
And so begins the 'night of the year'
Time to slow down
Relax and take cheer
Trick or Treat
Bonfire Night
Solstace
Christmas
And New Year
The North wind doth blow
The north wind doth blow
Time to sit by the fire in its warm glow

Friday 26 October 2012

Robin Redbreast

A little robin flitting round
And pecking worms
Right from the ground
'Hurry up' he sings
'Arctic winds do bring'
The promise of winter
And all white things
He chirrups and dances
Skips and prances
Not a foot away
From where I work today
A gardener's friend
Signalling summer's end

Who needs a map?!

An Ordinance Survey map
I was told to buy
As Jo did not want to walk
As the crow does fly
I normally look, walk and just go
Across the fields
Down the tracks
Through the scrub
Through where river which doth flow

This year I was good
I bought Jo a map
But we still got lost
And got in a flap
'you can't read that map'
I told her and laughed.
'it could be over there, over there,
Or over there.
'what?!' I said
'you're havin' a giraffe!'

'Rubbish'I said
And pointed to where
I knew it to be
But it was hidden to be fair
We then ended up
On a shooting range
Which was terribly daunting
And terribly strange.

So East Kennet Barrow
Still remains unfound
Next time when we go
I shall follow the hound.
Ha!

Running Free

Running free, running free
On our first wild run
For Alfie and me.
Along the River Kennet
We went
Bounding freely
Until we were spent.
We passed the magical Silbury Hill
It was so quiet and oh so still.
The birds did sing
'hurry up to the stones
To do your Tai Chi Drill
Before you go home'.

Round it and round it
We did go
Running wild
Helping the energy to flow.
I then tied Alfie to a tree
Started a standing meditation
And began to feel the Qi
With hands a tingling
And energy flowing round
I love this place
This hallowed ground
The magnetism was very strong
It held me in place
For very long.
Then we packed up
And headed for home
Back to the 'hippy van'
And looking forward to a long roam
Running free, running free
For our first wild run
For Alfie and me.

Dolman Dreaming

The forgotten dolman
Upon hallowed ground
The one the farmers
Must plough around
A lovely time and peace of mind
At the fairy dolmen we did find
Still and quiet not a soul was here
And on our way
We were welcomed by deer
Hail, sun, rainbows and rain
Then two black military copters came
We dowsed and danced
And breathed in new Qi
And cartwheeled around
The dolmen did we
The Devil's Den
They have called this place
But that name does not suit His face
Now happy memories I take with me
And I dream of dolmans with magic Qi

Counting Down

One more day to go
One more day tomorrow
It'll be lunch at the Long Barrow.

Sunday 7 October 2012

Waiting with baited breath

This time next week I shall be
In my beloved Avebury
Walking through the hanging stones
Henges and barrows all full of bones
Our pilgrimage to this Hallowed ground
Which the farmers must plough around
Putting energy and breathing Qi
Back into Dragon Lines we shall be
I do hope that the weather will be fine
In Wiltshire at this October time.

An Autumn Leaf

An autumn leaf did blow in
Through the door into the kitchen
An acer leaf wanted to share
A hint of its beautiful colour

Sunday 30 September 2012

Gardening

Toning down the garden to make the most of autumn acre colour today. Going a bit minimalist. I am a container gardener. I only rent my property and my plants are my babies and I take my garden with me wherever I go. Therefore I am continually zenning out whilst plant shuffling to make the most if colour and foliage.

I do have a sub tropical corridor to the garden though now.

Saturday 29 September 2012

Thinking of Barrows

Barrows, dowsing, portals, leylines and Qi are on my mind as my visit to Wiltshire draws nearer.

These were built along Dragon lines or leylines - sort of Qi rivers if you like. The tombs were built on geospirals which have lost their Qi and been forgotten.

I plan to dowse, assess the energy, feel the energy - since I am sensative to Qi being a reiki master. Then I plan to experiment and do tai Qi and reiki at the tomb to cleanse the stale Qi out and re-assess the place again. Then dowse to see if we can breathe life back into a portal again. Interesting .....

Dollydog or Dollybird

I have always detested dressed up doggys but in a bid not to turn on the heating too soon I have got my dog a knitted top and asked a friend if she'd be able to make another. My other friend said dogs dont need coats, but I think they are living in the warm with us and they feel just as chill when the cold air hits them too, just as we do, Battersea put them on short haired doggys so mine is having a winter wooly.
So have i really become a Dollybird or am I being practical? We already had the outdoor coats. We gonna put on extra clothes this year.

Monday 24 September 2012

Battersea Dogs Home

I can't watch that program without crying. Those doggies are cared for well. That's where my Alfie dog came from. I didn't get him directly from there he had been dumped on one of my gardening customers. This guy had got him from the home then moved out to Oz. there are Soo many of these staffy dogs and after rescuing 2 now I can see why. High Adrenalin argumentative dogs some of them can be if not socialised. I'll be too old to run after another one.

The first dog I had was Bugsie a moody old white cross staff who hated other animals. He was an overweight 12 year old when we got him and we had him until he was 18. Bless him. 3 good walks a day and a cooked dinner, that's what a dog needs.

Then 2 years later Alfie the naughty little city dog. No manners and lousy with livestock. Can't be let of the lead cox he fights and chases squirrels. Our wknd away in Wiltshire is gonna be interesting this year!

Sunday 23 September 2012

A Dull Sunday

The rain is pounding down today
So I will not go out to play
We ran this morning
Whilst you lot were still yawning
Along the beach
did our legs reach
along the sand
My dog firmly in hand
So he will not go
to annoy another dog so.

(Mainly the reason that I run the dog is because he came from battersea Dog's Home and  has no manners. He desperatly wants to meet other dogs but when they tell him off he attacks themso no letting off the lead for Alfie. Running helps me control him as we pass other animals and gives us both the excercise we need.)

Poetry in motion

I have found myself 'rhyming' my way through the day. Oddly enough it has been since I decided to join the OBOD at the Bardic level. I find myself making up little ditties on my first dog walk and throughout the day. Here is this mornings little offering:

A Modron fire we had last night
We sat in the rain
Whilst it stayed alight
Reciting poetry,
singing and doing tai chi
Just Jo, her little son and me
A lovely time was had by all
And when we had awoken
It really felt like Fall

Wednesday 5 September 2012

A nice surprise

My best friend Jo asked me to accompany her to our favourite spot in Wiltshire named Avebury. We go each year to hang out by the Henge and wander round the land of the Ancents. The land has a mystical feel. I woke up very excited. I just can't wait to go for our first wild run along the stone avenue to the Henge itself.

Only 5 weeks to go .... Can't come soon enough!

Sunday 2 September 2012

Seasons of Change

I work at 4:30 to an email from my darling friend Lorraine, the druid in the desert, only to then be wide awake so I got up at 5 o'clock and paid homage to Venus and stumbled downstairs into the bamboo grove to do my Qi Gong work out. Then off out for a run along the beach I could see the cloud rolling in and around the back of the Downs, Cissbury ring. Then home for my yoga workout. I feel fully revitalised and ready for the week ahead. And then the misty rain came in and all my chores are done so this Druid is feeling a bit smug this morning.

Get an identity

Once you start running you're a runner. Having a sense of identity can be incredibly powerful. It's great to have something to define you outside of your work and family life.

Fridays

I struggle with Fridays, I'm Soo tired by then that I want the weekend. Still only 4 hrs of gardening and a reiki client at 4. At least I got my radio Shoah to get me through gotta love podcasts.

Syncronicities

Having thought of my friend on and off for a few days she rings me and we meet up to do some reiki. It turns out she had a rough few months like I have and we decided to help each other along and to meet up more regularly. We  both want to get back to our reiki in a relaxed way. Get back to our druidry, and whatever else we want to experience. I had phoned her abgout 6 weeks ago for I cant remember what, probebly coz I been thinking of her and she was in hospital at deaths door and I didnt know. Funny how some ppl are tied and syncronize. Rose Quarts Maiden thank you fort being my friend and I cant wait to to explore the cosmos together.

Wednesday 29 August 2012

I meet the nicest ppl...

As a reiki healer all sorts of ppl come through the door and some of them are the most lovely ppl ever. I get all soppy after a treatment - gotta love my job.
