The north wind doth blow
The north wind doth blow
Bringing with it the hint of the cold
The clocks turning back
The nights drawing in
And so begins the 'night of the year'
Time to slow down
Relax and take cheer
Trick or Treat
Bonfire Night
Solstace
Christmas
And New Year
The North wind doth blow
The north wind doth blow
Time to sit by the fire in its warm glow

Robin Redbreast
A little robin flitting round
And pecking worms
Right from the ground
'Hurry up' he sings
'Arctic winds do bring'
The promise of winter
And all white things
He chirrups and dances
Skips and prances
Not a foot away
From where I work today
A gardener's friend
Signalling summer's end
And pecking worms
Right from the ground
'Hurry up' he sings
'Arctic winds do bring'
The promise of winter
And all white things
He chirrups and dances
Skips and prances
Not a foot away
From where I work today
A gardener's friend
Signalling summer's end

Who needs a map?!
An Ordinance Survey map
I was told to buy
As Jo did not want to walk
As the crow does fly
I normally look, walk and just go
Across the fields
Down the tracks
Through the scrub
Through where river which doth flow
This year I was good
I bought Jo a map
But we still got lost
And got in a flap
'you can't read that map'
I told her and laughed.
'it could be over there, over there,
Or over there.
'what?!' I said
'you're havin' a giraffe!'
'Rubbish'I said
And pointed to where
I knew it to be
But it was hidden to be fair
We then ended up
On a shooting range
Which was terribly daunting
And terribly strange.
So East Kennet Barrow
Still remains unfound
Next time when we go
I shall follow the hound.
Ha!

Running Free
Running free, running free
On our first wild run
For Alfie and me.
Along the River Kennet
We went
Bounding freely
Until we were spent.
We passed the magical Silbury Hill
It was so quiet and oh so still.
The birds did sing
'hurry up to the stones
To do your Tai Chi Drill
Before you go home'.
Round it and round it
We did go
Running wild
Helping the energy to flow.
I then tied Alfie to a tree
Started a standing meditation
And began to feel the Qi
With hands a tingling
And energy flowing round
I love this place
This hallowed ground
The magnetism was very strong
It held me in place
For very long.
Then we packed up
And headed for home
Back to the 'hippy van'
And looking forward to a long roam
Running free, running free
For our first wild run
For Alfie and me.

Dolman Dreaming
The forgotten dolman
Upon hallowed ground
The one the farmers
Must plough around
A lovely time and peace of mind
At the fairy dolmen we did find
Still and quiet not a soul was here
And on our way
We were welcomed by deer
Hail, sun, rainbows and rain
Then two black military copters came
We dowsed and danced
And breathed in new Qi
And cartwheeled around
The dolmen did we
The Devil's Den
They have called this place
But that name does not suit His face
Now happy memories I take with me
And I dream of dolmans with magic Qi
Upon hallowed ground
The one the farmers
Must plough around
A lovely time and peace of mind
At the fairy dolmen we did find
Still and quiet not a soul was here
And on our way
We were welcomed by deer

Waiting with baited breath
This time next week I shall be
In my beloved Avebury
Walking through the hanging stones
Henges and barrows all full of bones
Our pilgrimage to this Hallowed ground
Which the farmers must plough around
Putting energy and breathing Qi
Back into Dragon Lines we shall be
I do hope that the weather will be fine
In Wiltshire at this October time.

An Autumn Leaf
An autumn leaf did blow in
Through the door into the kitchen
An acer leaf wanted to share
A hint of its beautiful colour

A hint of its beautiful colour
