Terracotta Warriors

Made for the Emperor of the Qin
To the West we guard the tomb within

Another army to the east
16,000 of us - at least

From the 3rd century BC
We have stood here in perfect harmony

Modelled upon His army above
We have been fashioned out of respect and love

Made for our Emperor's every need
His death brought about by his very own greed

For the elixir of Immortal Life was sought
As was the fashion of the Chinese court

Toxic fluids were swallowed down
Gold was particularly potent
Not for a crown

And now we stand in these three pits
More lie undiscovered with fine funery bits

Chariots, weapons, many supplies
Acrobats, musicians and concubines

Over 1000 horses , stone armour, weapons still so sharp
Buried there within the dark

Guarding The Emperor for all time
I stand forever in this line.
