Trying to be a bard

I have recently joined the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. The course is very interesting snd stimulating my brain cells. By just joining I have followed the first excercises and am now going to start writing. The course is all about. Ringing out the Bard in you which I have started. I called a robin to my garden by poetry. Now I am going to tell a part of a story they has not befn told before. One of the threads woven into a new tale. The story of Aphrodite and Ares who dive into the sea of stars only to based there by Typhon to create the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces - my star. I am planning this tale snd I dare say it will take a while but it will come.

Robin Red Breast

I noticed a redbreast
In the grove today
I've seen him twice
having a play
Ever since I wrote that rhyme
A little robin
Has been Having a good time
He uses Kuan Yin as his perch
And on her head he does besmirch
Our poor poor Goddess
I am sorry please forgive me
That Robin Redbreast
has come to see me

Remembrance Sunday

Off to the Cenotaph I go today
With my father's hat and medals
I go to pray
To remember all those fallen down
Those who fought for Country King & Crown
Harry Bailey Tilsley WW1
Reginald Tilsley WW2
Norman Tilsley WW2 & China
Philip Clifton German POW
Rev Arthur Beale At Dunkirk
Who got the wounded out,
As the Gerries went berserk

For all those fallen on the ground
In all wars fought
We gather round
Poppies on and in full song
If we forget we will go wrong

Another memory I do hold dear
Is my darling Bugsie dog
With the floppy ear
3 years ago today
As the gun salutes
He went on his way
To march with the troops
Up in the sky
And for my darling Bugsie
I do still cry

We also pray for the troops today
To come home safely
To us we pray

Dawn Run

Out for a run
On this frosty morn
Up comes the sun
All red on this dawn
Venus shines brightly
As the morning star
The moon all shiny
Near, yet oh so far
On and on
We run along the shore
Giving thanks and feeling lucky
Could we possibly ask for more?!

Hail

Running down the street today
Hailstorm pounds us on our way
Stinging lightly on my hands
The dog just stops still and stands
Tail between his legs did he
'this is not fun and not Yippii'!
I coax him on to run some more
But he cannot wait to reach our
front door
